       Born and raised in El Paso, I have come to love this city and this university. Therefore, I am honored to participate in the College of Science Student Council, which creates a comfortable and accessible venue for students and faculty to communicate about important issues.
        As an undergraduate student of geology, I am involved with various research projects, ranging from the geology of Venus and the Moon to geologic analysis through 3-D aerial photography.

  My name is Japheth Kipkirui Ng’ojoy. I was born in Nandi district, Rift Valley – Kenya. I am the youngest in the family of eight. I attended my elementary (primary) education and secondary education in Kenya and began my college education at UTEP in 2005.          I am a junior Geophysics student. I started in undergraduate research a year ago, working on a project dealing with the stratigraphy, grain size and, lithology of El Paso Water Utilities wells. I will present the details of this research in the Geology department colloquium this March. I have recently been accepted to work on a new project in the department with NASA to make training materials for future moon missions.
