My name is Japheth Kipkirui Ng’ojoy. I was born in
Nandi district, Rift Valley – Kenya. I am the youngest in the family
of eight. I attended my elementary (primary) education and secondary education
in Kenya and began my college education at UTEP in 2005. I run track and
cross country for UTEP (Go Miners) and I’m NCAA All-American in cross

I am a junior Geophysics
student. I started in undergraduate research a year ago, working on a project
dealing with the stratigraphy, grain size and, lithology of El Paso Water
Utilities wells. I will present the details of this research in the Geology
department colloquium this March. I have recently been accepted to work
on a new project in the department with NASA to make training materials
